About Mrs. Denise Coules (4C)
I graduated from the University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign with a B.S. in Finance from the College of Commerce. My first career began at The Northern Trust Bank, and I was a Personal Trust Administrator and a Second Vice President when I decided to become a stay-at-home mother. My husband, Peter, is an attorney, and we have two daughters, Lanie and Madeline. Our girls graduated from SS. Cyril & Methodius, and while they were here, I began working as a teacher’s assistant. This is when I discovered that I love teaching! As I continued to work as an assistant at SSCM, I went to school in the evenings and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University. My middle school endorsements are in English, Social Sciences, and Business. This is my twenty-first year at SSCM, and my fifteenth year working as a full-time teacher. The best part of my job is that I get to share my math background and my love of reading with my students, and I also get to incorporate my experience in the business world into my teaching style and strategies.
