Jr. High Lunchtime Book Club

Junior High Lunchtime Book Club

As part of the Battle of the Homerooms, students in 6th, 7th, & 8th Grades vote for the books from the Rebecca Caudill Book List that they would like to read for the Junior High Lunchtime Book Club.  The dates and books are then posted on the Junior High News Board and in the classrooms.  If a student has finished reading the book, they can choose to come eat their lunch with the group and discuss it.  We also have a special treat that relates to the book.  For example, we had chicken fried rice while discussing Bamboo People by Mitali Perkins because the setting of the book was in Asia.  Mrs. Denise Coules organizes these events, and other junior high teachers also join in to help facilitate the discussions.
