Did you know……..
All of our teachers continually take part in professional development designed for Religion teachers within a Catholic school?
All teachers are required to complete a variety of online classes to help deepen and develop their knowledge of our faith. They are also required to take part in retreats and other activities to help their personal faith deepen.
All of our teachers are involved on different “teams” to help all of the students achieve success within our school?
Our teachers spend time each month working in their assigned “team”. These teams help with Curriculum, Assessment, Religion and Discipline. Each group begins the year by setting measurable goals with objectives designed to help meet these goals.
We also have a School Improvement Team. This group works with with the other teachers to identify school goals and help to guide Math and Reading instruction.
We recognize and acknowledge our students’ kind acts on a monthly basis?
Through our “Kindness Counts” initiative we encourage all of our students to act kindly and always find ways to help others in our school family. Students who demonstrate kindness are called forward each month for special recognition.
For the month of September we are encouraging good citizenship in our students and staff.
This year we are also working on “Positive Discipline” throughout the entire school.
We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities for our students?
Our students have the opportunity to become involved with many different clubs or activities after the school day ends. Our Student Council has combined our Faith, Spirit, and Ecology Clubs to help students be involved in and also plan events for our school. Homework Club helps younger students with homework assignments and Newspaper encourages students to improve communication and technology skills by sharing school news with the community!
The Talent Show, School Play, School Choir and Young Rembrandts offer students a chance to share and develop talents in the fine arts.
The Chess Club helps to develop critical thinking skills and also good sportsmanship.
Our school’s Athletic Association has a long history of promoting parent involvement, athletic development, good sportsmanship, and teamwork!
We offer both before and after school care to help working parents?
Our unique “Morning Club” is available each day beginning at 6:30AM. It is staffed by two school employees who provide care and activities for students who need to be dropped off prior to the regular beginning of our school day.
We partner with Champions to offer a quality after school program for our students.
Please call our office if you are interested in learning more about these options.
We have many opportunities for parents to be involved?
Along with all of the activities mentioned above, we also have two of the very best parent organizations within the Archdiocese of Chicago.
- Our Parent School Organization (PSO) will reach out to all parents and guardians to provide our school, and all of the people in it, the tools and opportunities needed to make it successful.
- Our Board of Specified Jurisdiction (BSJ) is actively working with finance, policies, school development, marketing and enrollment to help us remain a vital part of the community.
Thank you for your interest and support of our school!
