SSCM Internet Safety

SS. Cyril & Methodius has a strong policy of promoting and practicing Internet Safety on campus. All students, faculty and staff are required to use SSCM login credentials for any school work performed on SSCM laptops, chromebooks, and all other equipment. This insures only authorized users can use the networks at school. Additional security is provided by the IT administrator and staff by way of reports, monitoring software and a strong firewall and web filter.

SSCM adheres to all Archdiocese of Chicago, State of Illinois and Federal government policies and procedures involving Internet Safety for Students, this includes policy and procedures which are outlined in the Child Internet Protection Act, CIPA.  Students and staff sign the SSCM Acceptable Use Policy at the beginning of the year which defines the acceptable use of all electronic devices and computers.  We are a Digital Citizenship Certifified School and our students are instructed in “Digital Citizenship” standards, Internet etiquette, proper Internet  research techniques and anti-cyber bullying sessions.

The current SSCM Acceptable Use Policy maybe found in the Parent Handbook.
